It’s been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2014, using its chapters also collected in 24 tankōbon volumes as of August 2019. The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without superpowers (known as Quirks) in a world where they’ve become commonplace, but that dreams of becoming a hero himself. He’s scouted by Each Of Might, Japan’s greatest hero, who shares his own quirk with Izuku after realizing his possible, and afterwards helps to register him at a prestigious high school for heroes in coaching.

The manga was adapted into an anime television show by Bones. Its first season aired in Japan from April 3 to June 26, 2016, followed by another year from April 1 to September 30, 2017, then a third year from April 7 to September 29, 2018, plus a fourth season by October 12, 2019. An animated film titled My Hero Academia: Two Heroes premiered on August 3, 2018. Another animated movie titled My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising will be published on December 20, 2019. There are plans to get a live-action movie by Legendary Entertainment.

Izuku along with his new buddies try to balance their Hero training with ordinary school assignments. However, the League of Villains, a wicked association established by All Might’s archenemy All For One, has plans to destroy all Heroes and take control of society

The Series is licensed for its English-language launch in North America by Viz Media. The first volume was released in English on July 3, 2018.
